About

Having moved from South Africa to my spiritual home in Scotland to further my studies in art and design, LIVING APART was born a few years later.

The seemingly inappropriate handle was inspired by a variety of things. At the time of creation my family was spread across the globe due to various circumstances and work commitments. The title of one of my favourite photography books by Magnum photographer Ian Berry seemed completely appropriate. It was full of powerful images highlighting the awful regime that controlled the country of my birth.

Thankfully that regime no longer stands and family situations have changed again but LIVING APART still exists to create change.

My work is informed by both my artistic practise and commercial projects. I love to experiment and work with different processes and substrates to create the most relevant solution to convey the message at hand.
